Getting into diving has never been so easy or so enjoyable as with Dive HQ Auckland. The PADI Open Water Diver Course is a great way to get into New Zealand diving. PADI scuba courses are now run all year round from our Dive Shop in Mount Roskill, but you can easily book online.
Training is conducted over two weekends. Saturday and Sunday. The theory part of your PADI Open Water course is online, so you can study at your own pace in your own time and join us for the pool and open water dives. THis must be completed prior to starting the training on the first Saturday. We also now offer weekday courses holiday courses and private courses.
Course cost $699.00
All of your scuba equipment is supplied, but you will need your own scuba-quality snorkelling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins and boots). If you find something you like somewhere else talk to us we can usually get it for you.
The theory part of your PADI open water course is online, so you can study at your own pace in your own time and join us for the pool and open water dives. We still run the traditional classroom course on request, but most people prefer the flexibility of PADI e-learning now.
The course is divided into 3 segments:
We run our PADI open water courses over two weekends Saturday & Sunday. The second weekend we get you out into the open water at one of the beautiful dive sites North of Auckland at Goat Island, Jones Bay or Matheson Bay or our own adopted Project Aware dive site Ti Point.
Scuba Quality Snorkelling gear (mask, fins, snorkel booties).
The PADI Open Water Diver course is, by far, the world's most popular scuba certification course. Millions of people have started diving as certified PADI Open Water Divers.
Designed with the busy diver in mind, eLearning is all about convenience – the opportunity to begin and continue diver education beginning on the Internet and continuing through a PADI Dive Centre or Resort of your choice.
Through an interactive web-based program new students will read, hear and see the same material other student divers receive from interacting with the PADI Open Water Diver manual and Video or Multimedia.
Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and motor procedures (skills, techniques, methods). The PADI Open Water Diver Course online provides the knowledge development portion you need. You develop the remaining skills by actually diving with a PADI Instructor.
After enrolling, PADI's eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.
The PADI Open Water Diver Course includes the online eLearning pass.
To sign up and book you on to a course, we will require a $200 deposit in order to issue you with your eLearning pass. Full payment needs to be made before your course starts. This can be Saturday morning if required. We will also issue you an RSTC medical which must be completed prior to starting your eLearning. If, for medical reasons, you can not complete the dive course and the elearning pass is still active, we can issue you a refund. Refunds will not be issued for change of mind.
We hold PADI Open Water Courses year-round. Our next few courses are scheduled as follows. If none of these dates suit you, please contact us.
